Professor, congratulations on your dissertation! I took your Puerto Rican studies class a few years ago and I’m still greatly influenced by everything you told us. Hopefully, now that you’ve finished your doctorate, you’ll have time to post more articles online (googling your name still only brings up 1 article!: Bush, God, and the Democrats).

Sadly, people like Cecilia are representative of the majority of the members of our community. We have to fight not only enemy lines but the enemy within. There is really no sense of identity as an LGBT community. PRPT and others have always put-up a fight for all of us, with a shy show of support. The LGBT community in PR is so self-absorbed, that they have never understood that the could be an electoral block of 500k+ that could decide or win any election. God saves form Fortuno and his fundamentalists white knights!

I think the list prepared by Puerto Rico Para Todos with the “cool” and “anti-cool” candidates regarding issues relevant to the LGBTT community was of great value. Feminist and Environmentalist organizations made similar analysis of the political platforms. I hope this becomes a trend in PR, away from the partisan and toward specific issues.

Me parece genial, y a la vez terrible, que algunas de las cosas que señalas se supone que sean un dado, algo que no deberíamos estar reclamando a estas alturas. La #14, por ejemplo, está recogida en la Constitución casi ad verbatim. Siglos más tarde aun hay que insistir en eso… What went wrong?

Añade uno sobre los imperativos de procrear y formar familias tradicionales (sean a partir de matrimonios entre personas del mismo sexo o no) y uno sobre la apatía al anti-intelectualismo y estamos gozando aun más.

{n.b.–> Sé que hay uno sobre anti-intelectualismo. Quiero otro.}
